Make sure your bike is in roadworthy condition. Check the tyre pressure, brakes and gears on your bike to ensure they are all working properly.
Safety is our priority for this event. All cyclists must wear a helmet at all times. Most helmets are light weight and stylish so there is no excuse not to wear one.
Although there will be food stops along the routes it is important to keep hydrated. Drinking little and often is recommended, especially in the 24 hours before the event. Even if you are not thirsty make sure you drink.
Attach a repair kit, spare tube and pump to your bike. This avoids a long walk home if you get a flat tyre.
Ensure you wear the event wristband provided in your information pack, in order to access the food stops on route. In addition attach the bike sticker on to your seat post.
Wind/Rain proof jacket
In Ireland it’s not uncommon to get four seasons in one day. Invest in a light weight waterproof jacket to keep you warm in any adverse conditions.
In the event of an emergency please carry your mobile phone and the emergency number provided in your information pack.
