Introducing the New 85km Ring of Beara Route
We’re excited to unveil the newest addition to the Ring of Beara Cycle — the 85 km route! Created for cyclists who want a challenge that’s as enjoyable as it is achievable, this route captures the essence of the Beara Peninsula in a slightly shorter loop. It’s ideal for riders looking to take part in the event for the first time, or anyone who wants to experience the famous atmosphere of the Ring without committing to the full distance.
Starting and finishing in Kenmare, the 85 km route follows the scenic coastal road past the legendary Helen’s Bar before tackling the first of its two climbs — the iconic Healy Pass. After the winding iconic descent into Adrigole, riders continue to Glengarriff for a well-earned food stop before taking on the final test of the day, the climb over the beautiful Caha Pass, and rolling back into Kenmare.
Don’t be fooled by the shorter distance — with two legendary mountain passes and stunning views at every turn, this route delivers plenty of adventure and satisfaction. The new 85 km Ring of Beara is the perfect mix of challenge, scenery, and craic!
